The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi women's basketball team will be taking part in the University of North Florida Lady Osprey Classic on Dec. 17 and 18 in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Islanders will take on Jacksonville State in the first game of the tournament on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 4 p.m.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN 1230 AM KSIX with the call by Matt Hicks.

Jacksonville State comes into the contest with a record of 1-7. The Islanders hold a 3-0 advantage in the all-time series between the two teams. They last played on Nov. 27, 1999, with the Islanders coming out on top by a score of 73-56 in Corpus Christi.

On Thursday, Dec. 18, the Islanders will take on host team North Florida in a 6 p.m. game.

That game will be broadcast on 94.7 FM KBSO with the call once again coming from Matt Hicks.

North Florida holds the edge in head-to-head meetings, as the two teams have only faced off one time, a 51-43 decision for the Ospreys on Nov. 24, 2007 at the Southern Mississippi tournament.

Jade Davis comes into the tournament averaging 12.4 points per game, good for eighth in the Southland Conference.

Myeisha Myles holds the distinction of being the only sophomore in the Southland to average double-digit points and better than eight rebounds. She is averaging 11.0 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.
