CORPUS CHRISTI – The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi Men's Tennis team will have one less match to worry about during the final week of the season, as the previously scheduled April 21 match against UT Arlington has been cancelled.
With UT Arlington having a long way to travel for a single match, and the Islanders playing two matches already during the week, both coaches agreed to cancel the match that was set for Sunday.
The change means that the Islanders match on Saturday, April 20 against Texas – Pan American will now be the final match of the regular season and will also be senior day for Gergo Weidinger and Andrew Maingot.
The duo will be recognized during the match for their contributions to Islanders Men's Tennis.
Texas A&M – Corpus Christi is currently in first place of the Southland Conference standings, and can clinch their sixth consecutive title with a win either on Thursday, April 18, against Lamar, or the previously mentioned match on Saturday.
Both will be held at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center, and admission is free to the public.
Following the end of the regular season, the team will travel to Beaumont for the Southland Conference Tournament starting on April 26 at the Thompson Family Tennis Center.
