The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi Men's Tennis team, ranked No. 53 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Rankings, will once again face a series of tough battles this weekend, with the team taking part in the annual Rice Team Invitational in Houston.

The Islanders (7-5) have won six straight matches, but they will face another great opponent on Friday, facing off against No. 33 Oregon (12-1) in a 9 a.m. match at the Jake Hess Tennis Stadium on the Rice Owls campus. The only loss of the year for Oregon came against No. 30 Washington on Feb. 22.

With a tough 4-3 win over Southern Miss on Wednesday at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center, the team has won two straight 4-3 matches, and three of the last four have come down to the final singles match before being decided.

After the Friday matchup against the Ducks, the Islanders will face Radford at 9 a.m. on Saturday and finish off the tourney with a 12 p.m. match against host Rice on Sunday afternoon.
