Texas A&M – Corpus Christi tennis fans can get double the action on Thursday afternoon, as both the men's and women's teams will be in action against Maryland – Baltimore County. Match times are set for 2 p.m. in the afternoon at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center.
The Islanders women's team is 8-2 on the year, while the men are 7-8 overall this season. The UMBC women are 9-5 in 2012, while the men sit at 5-7 this year. The UMBC women are coming off of a 5-2 win over UTSA, while the men's team fell 7-0 to the Roadrunners.
Last time out for the Islanders women's team, Mirna Cicak led the way against UTSA, clinching the match in a 5-2 Southland conference victory. The men's team lost a 5-0 decision against South Alabama way back on March 4, at the Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center. The men were scheduled to play Nicholls in the first Southland Conference match of the season, but the contest was rained out and rescheduled for a later date.
Fans have been a big part of the Islanders success this season, with over 100 coming out to each and every one of the home matches for both the men and women's teams. Fans are encouraged to come out and cheer on the teams as they face tough competition at home on Thursday.
Match time is set for 2 p.m., and admission is free to the public.
