The Texas A&M - Corpus Christi men's tennis team will finish what it started this weekend when they play the finals of the 2010 Islanders Open, an officially-sanctioned Intercollegiate Tennis Association fall tournament, at the Corpus Christi Athletic Club at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday night.
The finals will feature Islanders player Robert Raguz against either Laurent Montoisy or Aurelien Tave. Montoisy and Tave will play on Wednesday morning to determine who will face their teammate later that night.
Raguz is a sophomore who reached the finals by beating teammate Nathan Robinson during weekend play. Montoisy is a senior who returns to action after a redshirt season while Tave is a junior transfer from Troy University who went 16-4 last season as a member of the 2010 Sun Belt Champions.
Due to weather conditions this past weekend, the players were unable to complete the tournament, and will return to the court in front of fans at the athletic club to crown a champion.
