The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's tennis team will compete in a rare double header on Friday, taking on Nebraska in the morning at 10 AM in San Antonio, and heading back to Corpus Christi to play host to Texas-Pan American in a 7 PM match at the indoor courts in the HEB Tennis Center.
The Islanders will face a Nebraska team that is 3-1 on the season and ranked #73 in the nation. They face the 60th-ranked Islanders in a 10 AM match on Friday, part of a 10 game road trip they are on to start the season. This season the Huskers have beaten #68 San Francisco, #57 Indiana and Georgia State while losing to UNLV. The Islanders have beaten Nebraska the past two seasons.
In the nightcap, the Islanders will look to extend the unbeaten streak against Southland Conference opponents to 10 matches when they take on UTPA. The streak dates back to nine straight in an unbeaten SLC schedule last season. The Islanders swept through the regular season and the conference tournament on their way to an NCAA tournament appearance.
All fans are encouraged to attend to see the Islanders in their first home match of the season. The HEB Tennis Center is located off of Ayers Street across from Del Mar College.
