Douvier Taking Part in International Trip with Athletes in Action

CORPUS CHRISTI – Junior Bryce Douvier of the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball team is taking part in a tremendous opportunity in the coming weeks, as he has traveled with a group of fellow collegiate players to China, as part of a tour with the group Athletes in Action. Douvier headed overseas on Wednesday, May 14.

Douvier began his trip in West Lafayette, Ind., as the team went through camp prior to heading overseas. He and his teammates will spend nearly two weeks in China and Mongolia, returning on May 28. During that time, they will play teams in Beijing, Changzhou and Mongolia, suiting up for approximately six games during that time.

In the first game for the USA Eagles, Douvier knocked down a clutch three in the second half as his team rallied for a 115-100 victory over the Shanxi Dragons. The junior scored seven points to go along with two rebounds in the win.

Since 1966, Athletes in Action has been using sports as a platform to help people answer questions of faith and to point them to Jesus. AIA believes that sports have the power to open doors and create connections in a way that few other things can, and that's why it is constantly working to create new ways of reaching out to athletes and sports fans alike. Ultimately, its goal is to see peoples' lives changed as they discover God's purpose for their life. For more information on the organization, visit
