Islanders to Celebrate Military Appreciation Night on Saturday

CORPUS CHRISTI – The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi men's basketball team will celebrate Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, Nov. 10, for its game against Texas Lutheran at 7 p.m. on Stripes Court at the American Bank Center. All active and veteran military personnel will receive free admission to the game.

Additionally, service members may purchase tickets for their family members at the discounted rate of $5 per ticket, either in advance by calling 825-BALL (2255) or on game day at the American Bank Center ticket office. Military personnel will also be recognized for their contributions to our country during the game as well.

The contest with TLU will be the regular-season home opener for Islanders Men's Basketball in the second year of the Willis Wilson era. Texas A&M – Corpus Christi will play 13 regular-season home games during the 2012-13 season, and season tickets are still available through the Islanders Athletics ticket office or by calling 825-BALL. Season tickets start at just $129.

The Islanders return seven players from last year's team, including standouts Johnathan Jordan, Hameed Ali and Nate Maxey, and have added eight newcomers. Among the newcomers are three junior college transfers and five freshmen. Newbie Will Nelson scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the Islanders' exhibition game against Incarnate Word on Monday.
