"I would also be remiss if I didn't thank all of our supporters who came out to Monday's event as well as Jimmy Dykes, who gave an outstanding talk," he added. "It was a great event to start what should be an exciting season for our men's and women's basketball programs."

The event, which was emceed by Steven King, featured speeches from head men's basketball coach Willis Wilson, head women's basketball coach Royce Chadwick and Dykes, with all three emphasizing the heights that Islanders Athletics can reach with the continued commitment of the community.
