Islanders Wrap Up Week With Team Bootcamp
CORPUS CHRISTI – The Islanders men's and women's
basketball teams got a special workout this morning, as they took
part in a team bootcamp organized by the strength and conditioning
staff and led by a trio of local Marines. The Islanders had three
stations on the beach, then did a circuit jog around the Island
with exercises at set intervals.

On the beach, the teams were split into three groups, one at each station. The players had to do ammo box presses, an obstacle course and an 800-meter run, needing to hit certain goals in order to move on to the next station.
After this trio of workouts was finished, the players ran the two-mile path around Ward Island, singing chants as they went in unison and occasionally carrying teammates who were "wounded" for certain legs of the run. At three different stops, Marines led them in a series of body weight exercises.
