CORPUS CHRISTI – Thursday night's game between the Texas A&M – Corpus Christi men's basketball team and Texas Tech will be televised by Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast, it was announced today. It will mark the first of two televised home games for the Islanders in the 2011-12 season.
CSS is broadcast in 13 states throughout the Southeastern portion of the United States, including being carried on cable packages in Houston (Comcast Channel 129). CSS is a member of the Comcast Sports Group, which is consolidated within the NBC Sports Group and operates 14 local networks that deliver 2,400 sporting events annually and breaking news and analysis to more than 50 million homes.
The Islanders will host the Red Raiders on Thursday, Dec. 1, at the American Bank Center at 7 p.m. It will be the third matchup for the Islanders against a Big 12 foe this season, and marks the second year in a row that a member of the conference has visited the Coastal Bend (Texas A&M visited last year). Tickets for the event are still available by calling 825-BALL or visiting GoIslanders.com.
Later this season, Southland TV will carry the Islanders' conference opener, when they play host to Lamar on Wednesday, Jan. 4. That contest pits the conference's two new coaches – Willis Wilson and Pat Knight – against each other.
