The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi Baseball program will host its second annual golf tournament this fall as part of a two-day event along with the Islanders Alumni Game at Chapman Field.
Registration for the event is now open, with forms for fans and boosters available, as well as one for former Islanders players to participate in the tournament and the alumni game the next day. Registration the day of the events starts at 11 a.m. on October 20 at the Gabe Lozano Sr. Golf Center in Corpus Christi.
After getting everyone signed in, lunch will be served, followed by a silent auction and practice on the driving range until a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
There are individual and team packages, along with hole sponsorships available throughout the course. The lowest individual entry is $80 for the "single" that includes golf and lunch, all the way to $300 for a "triple" which includes golf, lunch, adidas Islanders polo, adidas Islanders hat, a subscription to the Islanders Baseball Weekly E-Newsletter and two season tickets for the 2013 season.
Team packages range from a $135 for the "home run" package, golf and lunch for two, up to a "walk-off home run" for $350, which is the same as the "triple" but for two people.
Former players will also participate in the tournament, and will get to face off against each other the next day on Sunday in the annual Alumni Game. That day will feature check-in and breakfast at 10 a.m., batting practice at 10:30 a.m. and a 12 p.m. first pitch in the game.
The weekend will serve as a venue to meet, develop and strengthen relationships with the current coaching staff, baseball alumni, fans and friends of the program for all of those involved.
