TEMPLE COLLEGE: Spent two seasons playing for head coach Craig McMurtry at Temple College … the Leopards went 21-8 in conference as he batted .379 with eight home runs as a freshman … averaged .325 and hit two home runs his sophomore year… team finished sixth at the JUCO World Series and earned first team all-conference academic honors. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Coached by Chase Mann at A&M Consolidated High School … as a senior, he earned Academic All-State honors, First Team All-Brazos Valley Academic Baseball three consecutive years (2007-10), also earned All-State, first team All-District 12-5A and was invited to play in the Houston Area Baseball Coaches Association All-Star game … in 2007, earned First Team All-Brazos Valley Academic Team for both baseball and football … that same year, he was first team all-district and All-Brazos Valley second team while helping his team to a district championship.
