CORPUS CHRISTI – The Texas A&M – Corpus Christi Department of Athletics has announced the formation of the 110% Club for the Islander Athletic Fund. IAF members who increase their contribution by at least 10 percent from the previous year will be eligible for the newly formed group.
“Our coaches here ask for 110 percent from their student-athletes, and we’d like our supporters to give 110 percent as well,” Director of Athletics Scott Lazenby said. “We think this will be a fun thing for our IAF members and also for our athletics department. We are so grateful for the support our boosters provide to our student-athletes to help them achieve greatness both on the playing field and in the classroom.”
Those IAF members who increase their 2013 contribution by 10 percent over their 2012 gift will be invited to a special reception in September, will be recognized at a home basketball game next season, will be identified on GoIslanders.com and will receive a “110%” T-shirt. Renewal applications for the Islander Athletic Fund were recently mailed out, so current IAF members should expect to receive notification in their mailboxes in the coming days if they have not received them already.
