2016 Islander Splash Meet Information:

  1. Dates:
    • High School races: Saturday 17 September 2016
    • University races: Friday 16 September 2016
    • Middle School  and Elementary races:  Thursday 15 September 2016
  2. Where:  Islander Cross Country course in the grounds of the Dugan Track and Soccer Stadium, 700 Nile Street, Corpus Christi, TX 78412
  3. Entry:
  4. Eligibility to run:
    • All colleges are invited.  All open athletes are invited but must be out of high school.
    • All high schools are invited.  No clubs or unattached individuals are allowed.
    • All middle school and elementary schools are invited.  No clubs or unattached  individuals are allowed.
  5. Entry limits:  There are no entry limits on any race except the High School Gold Division.  In that division each school is limited to one team of 7 runners.
  6.  Entry Fees:
    • Middle schools and elementary schools have no entry fee.
    • High school entry fees are $15 for each athlete entered. Note:  this is for each athlete entered regardless if they compete or not.
    • Universities entry fees are $250 per school per gender.    Unattached or club runners are $25 per individual.
  7. Payment of entry fees:  Check’s, cash or credit cards may be used.  If mailed payment must arrive prior to packet pickup times.  Checks should be made out to TAMUCC Athletics.  Packets will not be released without payment.  Checks may be mailed to TAMU-CC Athletic Islander Splash XC meet MS 5719, 6300 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78412. 
  8. Entry Deadline:  Monday September 12, 2016.
  9. Chip Timing for all university and high school races.  Schools will be charged $5/chip for lost chips.  Turn in chips of athletes not competing at Packet Pick up.
  10. W-9 Forms:  If your school requires a W-9 to make payment contact the meet administrator:  Olympia Webb at: Olympia.webb@tamucc.edu
  11. Packet Pick up:  At the front of the track stadium:
    • Universities:  4-7pm Friday
    • High Schools:  4-7pm Friday and as indicated on meet schedule
  12.  Parking: There is no fee for parking.
    • On Saturday at the high school races:
    • Team parking is at the track or tennis court lots for team vans.  Buses will drop at the stadium and then continue to main campus and park at the Hammerhead lot, which is located at the second entrance onto campus.  See Map.  A shuttle will take bus drivers to and from Hammerhead and the track stadium lot.
    • On Saturday spectator parking will be one of two places depending on the weather:
    • If the weather is dry:   parking will be on the grass field areas on Nile St. across from the track stadium and tennis courts. 
    • If the weather is wet so that we are unable to park cars on the grassy fields near the track stadium:  Parking will be on the main TAMU-CC campus.  There will be shuttle buses to take you from the main campus back to the track area and return.
    • Handicap parking is at the track stadium lot.
  13. Admission:  There is no charge for admission.Team camps:   will be in the grassy areas adjacent to the track stadium stands.  No participants or spectators will be allowed on the track or into the track infield.

  15. Awards and Awards Ceremony: 
    • In Elementary and Middle School races top finisher will get a t-shirt.   T-shirt will be handed out in finish chute.  No team awards.
    • In University races top 10 finishers will get a t-shirt.  T-shirts handed out in finish chute. No team awards.
    • In High school races top 10 finishers will get a medal.  Top 3 teams will get an award.  Medals will be giving out in the finish chute.  Team awards will be handed out at awards stand at times indicated on meet schedule.
  16. T-shirts and concessions will be available in the area by the track stadium.
  17. Results will be posted for all races on Friday and Saturday on the wall of shed behind the track stadium.  No results will be kept for Thursday races.
