Constructed in 2009, the Dr. Jack and Susie Dugan Wellness Center is the home for the Islanders volleyball team and also hosts select men's and women's basketball games. It has two NCAA regulation basketball courts and a 9,000-square foot strength and conditioning facility along with being the home of the majority of offices for Islanders Athletics staff.
The facility is one of the loudest in the Southland Conference, with Islanders Volleyball enjoying a strong home-court advantage in the Dugan. The Islanders have led the league in attendance in each of the last three years, averaging over 500 fans per match in each season. A&M-Corpus Christi has seen at least 1,000 fans for one match in each of the last three years, and has posted a 27-8 record in the Dugan over that span.
Islanders Basketball has also played at least one game on campus in the Dugan every year since its inception, including a capacity crowd for the inaugural game against UTSA on Jan. 24, 2009. The women's team has gradually played more games on campus due to the raucous environment and the home-court advantage it provides.
Parking is available in both the Turtle Cove lot behind the facility or the Curlew Lot in front of the facility for weekend games, but it is recommended that visitors park in the Bayside Parking Garage during the week, when permits are required.
