FRISCO, Texas – The Southland Conference released its 2024-25 postseason awards Friday, and senior
Garry Clark of the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men's basketball team was selected to the First Team.
Clark is now a two-time All-Conference First Team selection after also earning the recognition last season.
"I was extremely excited to hear that Garry was honored for his tremendous performance on the court in conference play," said head coach
Jim Shaw. "Garry was a consistent scorer all season long, scoring in double figures 31 of our 32 contests. Additionally, he made a huge impact on winning by rebounding on both ends of the floor. Overall, Garry proved himself to be one of the most efficient scorers and impactful players in the Southland and thus is very deserving of his First Team All-SLC recognition."
Clark, from St. Louis, Missouri, ended the season ranked sixth in the league in scoring at 14.8 points per game. He was second in total rebounding at 8.7 rebounds per game but the league in defensive rebounding averaging 6.0 in conference play. Clark was the most efficient overall shooter in the Southland with a .551 field goal percentage on the year with a .522 clip in league play. Additionally, Clark averaged 0.7 blocks per game in conference which put him in that top-20.
He scored 10+ points in 31 of the 32 regular season games this year and registered seven double-doubles against conference opponents.

Clark and the Islanders will get their conference tournament campaign underway Sunday, March 9 at 5 p.m. against No. 8 HCU. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals against No. 4 Northwestern State before advancing to face No. 1 McNeese in the semifinals on Tuesday. The championship game is set for Wednesday, March 12 at 4 p.m. on ESPN2.
