AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi track & field opened its slate at the Texas Invitational on Friday with five athletes competing in events, four in the field and one on the track.
Hannah McWilliams tied her own school record at 3.97 meters in the pole vault. McWilliams won the Section B flight on Friday for her fourth career event victory.
Fresh off setting the program record in the hammer last week,
Diamond Thomas notched the third longest throw in the event in program history at 46.98 meters.
Morgan McCutchen placed fourth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:55.79, while
Logan Robinson took 13th and tied for the seventh farthest heave in the javelin in school history on Friday with his mark of 49.60 meters.
Lauren Brown rounded out the competition for the Blue and Green with an 18th-place finish in the triple jump.
The remainder of the Islanders' lineup will hit the track tomorrow, starting with
Will Maraggia,
Tristan McNeal and
Jaran Cadena in the men's 800-meter run.
